Undefeated Aztecs Win their First Bout

It could have been so different. The players on the day pulled through. The team had intended to represent themselves at their first outing with nine players, but within the twenty-four hours leading up to kick-off time, that number began to decline rapidly. When the first game started, the Aztecs were down to just four players. That is what life in 2020 and now 2021 looks like. We have to deal with it and move on.

But what a cracking four it was!

Divina, Kayleigh T, Rebekah T, and Lauren were superstars on the day. Help was provided in each game by borrowing a player that was available from an opponent, making it an even 5v5 on the court. The skills on show were sublime, and the goals kept coming, with the Aztecs winning four, drawing one, and then winning in the final.
