21st January 2023: The young stars put on a great show in this comprehensive win.
Three goalkeepers in the squad with Lauren Sayler and Mo Delaney playing in green on the court. There was a lovely moment for Sayler's goal when all three keepers combined, as Stanley threw out to Delaney, who laid off to Sayler for the finish. Not only do we have three great keepers, but also three great teenagers. Delaney, Harris, Walker were thoroughly impressive yet again, and are already top players with a bright futsal future.
Bedford raced to a three goal lead, before the Aztecs responded. Becky Haigh-McLelland with her first goal for the club, assisted by Mo Delaney on the fly. Southampton tried to mount a comeback, coming close when Rebecca Moody hit the bar on the volley. Bedford continued their assault on the Aztecs goal in the second half. Hannah Walker added a consolation, but the Aztecs were well beaten. Lots of hope for the future with our young players, and still much to learn.
