28th January 2023: A point apiece in this back and forth goal fest.
With a few absences and injuries, only seven made the trip. Debutants Mayela Reyna and Charlotte McGuinness made their first Aztecs appearances, and for the second week running, there has been three keepers in the Squad. Bert Stanley in net, with Reyna and Mo Delaney playing on court.
Both teams had the lead and both teams lost the lead. From the Aztecs' point of view, it was good to see youngsters Delaney and Walker on the scoresheet. Delaney has come close several times while in goal, and now she has two goals of her, own, scoring a brace with the left and right foot. Hannah Walker scored a second half hat-trick, with two of them being cracking strikes. All five Aztecs goals were scored by sixteen year-olds. What also impressed was the different assist providers; Stanley, Haigh, McGuinness, and Ebhodaghe all providing.
Captain Stanley impressed between the sticks and was voted as player of the match.
